Ives Burger Barristers & Solicitors consists of four lawyers and seven support staff.
Paul R. Ives was called to the bar in 1988. Paul practices primarily in the real estate conveyancing and development, wills/estates and corporate/commercial areas of law.
Paul has been Mayor of Comox since December 2008, is a past chair of the Comox Recreation Commission, a member of the Courtenay Rotary Club and past president of Comox Rotary Club.
Mark Burger graduated from UBC in 1993 with B. Comm., obtained his LL.B. in 1996 and was called to the bar in 1997. He has been a director on the Comox Valley Community Foundation for 4 years.
Mark practices in the areas of personal injury, family law, wills/estates and commercial litigation.
Hans grew up in the Comox Valley and graduated from Highland Senior Secondary in 1985. He attended North Island College before transferring to the University of Victoria in 1986.
Hans went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria, his Master of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and his Juris Doctor from Queen's University. Hans also earned his Graduate Diploma in Korean Language from Sogang University.
When Hans completed law school in 2005, he articled with Cook Roberts in Victoria. He continued to work for Cook Roberts after his call to the bar, later taking positions with the Ministry of Finance, Appeals and Litigation Branch and the Attorney General, Legal Services Branch, before relocating with his family to the Comox Valley and joining Ives Burger Barristers & Solicitors.
Hans practices in the areas of ICBC personal injury, estate litigation, family law and commercial and general litigation.
He is a member of the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North.
Katherine E. Tinmouth (née Linton) was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2008 and the British Columbia bar in 2010.
Katherine grew up in the Comox Valley and moved east after graduating from Highland Senior Secondary School. She earned her B.A. from McGill University in Montreal and her LL.B. from Dalhousie University in Halifax.
She has recently returned home to resume her practice and raise a family. Katherine practices family law, personal injury law and commercial litigation.
